I purchased this camera based on assurances from TrendNet that it was fully Mac compatible. THAT IS NOT THE CASE.
#1, TrendNet does not provide any written instructions for using this camera with a Mac.
#2. If you figure it out on your own, then there are new problems…While you can sometimes view the camera in Safari, it is very difficult to administer the camera. Safari simply cannot display the web pages correctly. As for FireFox… it just crashes. (BTW: I am on 10.6.1 with the latest Safari and Fireox)
However, since they offer a Java option (in addition to Active-X) you can view video on browsers other than IE. So, you can view video on Safari. The camera does work with EVO-Cam… but, that costs $30 more.
Other than that, the camera has a decent picture, but the configuration options are really limited. There is no ability to add a date/time stamp to snapshots and the only way to do motion detection is through their Windows software product IPView PRO 2.0 (which, does not run on a Mac).
All-in-all, If I had known the true limitations of the camera, I would have bought something else.

This camera is worth every cent I spent. I had some trouble doing Port forwarding and TRENDNET helped me through the steps. Before I knew I had my handy little camera online ready for action. I’ve had it got over 3 months now and seems to be pretty reliable. I would recommend this camera for any home or entry business customer. trendNET rocks and I will continue buying from them. THIS IS A GOOD BUY.
