My kids are 14 and 11 and are becoming more savvy Internet users. The author is right when she says that kids will outpace your knowledge almost overnight. I felt like I needed some insider advice when it comes to adolescent use of the Internet. I got it. I particularly liked the suggested “net-etiquette” contract with family rules surrounding the Internet, advice on how to protect your child & family’s identity online, how to protect financially sensitive information, reviewing what other kids post online about your kids, and advice on parental filters. This is written in a straight forward manner and is easy for non-technical types to understand. I found it very useful & informative.
